The game in Boyaca supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Cimarrones (14-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Patriotas (7-13). Cimarrones smashed Patriotas 81-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Patriotas. They outrebounded Patriotas 45-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was guard Brandon Sperling (196-90, college: Humboldt St.) who scored 29 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Tyquane Goard (201-93, college: Marshall) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Sperling is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Power forward Aramie Brooks (203-87, college: Northwestern St.) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and forward Titus Mims (201, college: Hardin-Simmons) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Patriotas' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Cimarrones maintains second position with 14-6 record having just three points less than leader Academia. Defending champion Patriotas keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. Cimarrones' next round opponent will be Bucaros (#3) in Bucaramanga, which may be the game of the day. Patriotas will play on the road against Piratas (#8) in Bogota and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
