La Spezia outscored Crema in overtime to force the third decisive game in the series. Team Crema was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 15-12 third quarter run of La Spezia. They tied the game at the end of regular time. Then they were better in overtime eventually winning that period 9-5. La Spezia held Team Crema to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.7 percent accuracy of the winners. La Spezia had a 38-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. Latvian power forward Lauma Reke (185-86, college: St.Peter's) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Marta Granzotto (175-92) supported her with 17 points. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) by guard Norma Rizzi (170-93) did not help to save the game for Team Crema. Power forward Gilda Cerri (185-90) added 9 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Four Team Crema players scored in double figures.
