Vasco Da Gama outgunned Ginastico to sweep Liga Ouro semifinal series. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ginastico won third quarter 29-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vasco Da G. made 29-of-38 free shots (76.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 31 personal fouls committed by Ginastico helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Argentinian point guard Damian Palacios (177-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists. The former international point guard Helio Vitor Lima (185-81) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Frederico Lima (180-80) with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and center Moises de Lima (213-92) scored 13 points. Five Vasco Da G. and four Ginastico players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
