Regular Season Round 12: Rockingham F. - Geraldton B. 106-95

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Flames (10-6) won against one of their biggest challengers Buccaneers (10-6) in Rockingham 106-95 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Flames. Buccaneers was better in fourth quarter 29-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Flames forced 23 Buccaneers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Cooper Land (205-88, college: Wright St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Ryan Godfrey (187-90, college: W.Georgia) contributed with 27 points and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Matthew Adekponya (194-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and American forward Maurice Barrow (198-92, college: Fairfield) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Buccaneers. Flames maintains fifth position in League with 10-6 record. Flames will face Redbacks (#7) in Northbridge in the next round. Buccaneers will play at home against Giants and hope to win that game.
