Date: May 22, 2016
Valmiera outlasted VEF Riga to even the championship series. VEF Riga trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 24-12 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-73 at the end of the game. Valmiera made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by VEF Riga helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Davis Rozitis (213-90, college: Hawaii) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Lauris Blaus (208-90) chipped in 11 points during the contest. Rozitis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Josh Bostic (196-87, college: Findlay, OH) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
