Maccabi Rishon overcame Maccabi Haifa for the second straight victory. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Maccabi Rishon's pressure prevailed and they won that period 26-15 extending their advantage to 18 points. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was international swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) who scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: George Mason) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. American forward Reginald Buckner (206-91, college: Mississippi, agency: CGL Sports) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Gregory Vargas (180-86, agency: Pro Sports) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
