Bahia Basket fired past Penarol to surge ahead in the series. The game was mostly controlled by Bahia Basket. Penarol was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Bahia Basket outrebounded Penarol 43-29 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Penarol was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Panamanian center Jamaal Levy (206-83, college: Wake Forest) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Gaston Whelan (188-94) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners. Four Bahia Basket players scored in double figures. Alejandro Diez (201-87) answered with 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and international swingman Nicolas Brussino (200-93) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Penarol. Penarol's coach Sergio Hernandez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
