Kutaisi have been crowned Superleague champions. They overcame Dinamo Tbilisi in the decisive fifth game of the title series. Dinamo Tbilisi was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 16-10 charge of Kutaisi, which allowed them to win the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Dinamo Tbilisi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Beka Bekauri (207-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Azerbaijani guard Zaur Pashaev (188-83) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Kutaisi's coach Kote Tugushi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Serbian swingman Maksim Kovacevic (196-87, agency: SPORTlab Agency) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and American guard Aubrey McAlpine (196, college: Robert Morris) scored 16 points and 6 assists.
