Quarter-Finals Round 4: Bahia Basket - Penarol 76-59

Bahia Basket held off Penarol to win the series 3-1. The game was mostly controlled by Bahia Basket. Penarol was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Bahia Basket won last quarter 31-15. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Penarol's 20. They outrebounded Penarol 44-30 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Penarol was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Gaston Whelan (188-94) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American center Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Bahia Basket players scored in double figures. International swingman Nicolas Brussino (200-93) replied with 25 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and American center Chris Moss (204-80, college: W.Virginia) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Penarol.
