Quarter-Finals Round 1: Guaymas - Agua Prieta 74-62

Guaymas held off Agua Prieta in the playoffs opener. The game was mostly controlled by Ostioneros de Guaymas. Vaqueros was better in fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vaqueros to just 7 points in second quarter. Ostioneros de Guaymas dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vaqueros' 28. They outrebounded Vaqueros 39-28 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Al'Lonzo Coleman (201-89, college: Presbyterian) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Mathew Kemp scored 16 points. Vaqueros' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
