Mazatlan overcame Obregon to take 2-0 lead in the series. American guard Jeff Ledbetter (190-88, college: Idaho) scored 36 points (!!!) and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Curtis Stinson (191-83, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 29 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Naturalized American swingman Adam Arciniega (201, college: Bethel, KS) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Taylor Brown (198-89, college: Bradley) scored 25 points. Four Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
