Flamengo eased past Bauru in the decisive fifth game of the title series to be crowned champions. The victory marked the fifth NBB title for the Rio de Janeiro powerhouse. The game without a history. Flamengo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Flamengo looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Paschoalotto/Bauru's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Paschoalotto/Bauru helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Marcelo Machado (201-75, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds and was named the Finals MVP. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. Flamengo's coach Jose Neto felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Italian point guard Paulinho Boracini (183-84) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and the former international center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds.
