Finals Game 5: Bayamon - Arecibo 86-88
Date: June 12, 2016
Arecibo nipped Bayamon to gain 3-2 lead in the championship series. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Vaqueros won fourth quarter 26-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 27 personal fouls committed by Vaqueros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Coty Clarke (201-92, college: Arkansas) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Cady Lalanne (208-92, college: Massachusetts) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Miguel Ali Berdiel (198-83, college: Valparaiso) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international center Peter Ramos (222-85) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Vaqueros' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
