Tijuana outscored Culiacan to seal their semifinal appearance. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-12. But Caballeros de Culiacan won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette) scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Adam Parada (213-81, college: Cal-Irvine) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Trinidad and Tobago-American point guard Ian Young (191-81, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) with 28 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St., agency: HMS) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds.
