Hermosillo topped Tijuana to open win count in the semis. American swingman Michael Craig (196-91, college: S.Mississippi) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Adam Parada (213-81, college: Cal-Irvine) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
