Regular Season Round 7: Leones SD - Huracanes PP 88-91

The most exciting game of round 7 in the LNB took place in Santo Domingo. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Leones SD (4-3) to sixth ranked Huracanes PP (3-4) 91-88 on Thursday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 32-25 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard John Taylor (185-89, college: Fresno Pacific) who helped to win the game recording 32 points. Naturalized American guard O'Darien Bassett (189-86, college: Troy) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Taylor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Naturalized American forward M.J. Rhett (208-92, college: Mississippi) answered with 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American swingman J.R. Giddens (196-85, college: N.Mexico, agency: DTMones) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Leones SD. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Huracanes PP moved-up to fifth place. Leones SD at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Reales LV. Huracanes PP are looking forward to face Titanes Licey (#6) in San Cristobal in the next round. Leones SD will have a break next round.
