Regular Season Round 18: Hume City B. - S.Peninsula S. 97-77

Rather expected game in Tullamarine where 4th ranked Sharks (14-6) were rolled over by first ranked Hume City Broncos (18-1) 97-77 on Saturday. Hume City Broncos dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Sharks' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hume City Broncos made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Colleen Planeta (188-88, college: Point Loma) who had a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 blocks. Canadian-Nigerian center Olayinka Olorunnife (182-90, college: Idaho) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Brittany Carter (183-93, college: Illinois) who recorded 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import guard Kaitlyn Mileto (178-92, college: Wyoming) added 24 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Hume City Broncos maintains first position in Leagues with 18-1 record. Loser Sharks keep the fourth place with six games lost. Hume City Broncos will face Hawks (#3) in Heathmont in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sharks will play on the road against Falcons in Mount Waverley and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
