Regular Season Round 18: Nunawading S. - Canberra C. 92-68

Date: July 17, 2016
Very expected game in East Burwood where 7th ranked Nationals (2-15) were rolled over by first ranked Spectres (13-4) 92-68 on Sunday. Spectres forced 26 Nationals turnovers. Nationals were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Amy Kame (183-92, college: San Diego) who scored 25 points. The former international swingman Hanna Zavecz (186-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Five Spectres players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Maddison Penn (184-94, college: Virginia Tech) who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds and forward Abbie Davis (182-94) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Spectres maintains first position in League with 13-4 record. Loser Nationals keep the seventh place with 15 games lost. Spectres will face Hobart Chargers (#5) at home in the next round. Nationals will play against Lady Bandits and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
