An interesting game for Metros STGO (10-0) which played road game in La Romana against 3rd ranked Caneros LR (4-5). Top-ranked Metros STGO managed to get a 11-point victory 83-72. The game was mostly controlled by Metros STGO. Caneros LR was better in third quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Caneros LR 49-33 including a 41-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Victor Liz (188-86) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and center Eloy Vargas (211-88, college: Kentucky) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. They share the position with 3 other teams. Metros STGO will play against league's second-placed Leones SD in Santo Domingo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caneros LR will play on the road against Indios SFM in San Francisco and hopes to get back on the winning track.
