Regular Season Round 19: Suncoast PC - SW Metro P. 64-77

Date: July 22, 2016
Everything could happen in Cotton Tree at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Pirates and 11th ranked Clippers had identical 3-11 record. But Clippers were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Runcorn 77-64 on Friday night. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pirates made 10 blocks. Clippers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 24 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. German guard Sidney Parsons (168-87, college: Bridgeport) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. Czech guard Katarina Flasarova (171-85) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Kierra Mallard (188-90, college: Texas Tech) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Clippers' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Pirates (4-11) moved-up to eleventh place in League. Loser Clippers dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Pirates will face higher ranked Rollers (#9) in Gold Coast in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Clippers will play on the road against Force in Booval and hope to win that game.
