Indios SFM (3-10) outlasted Titanes Licey (7-5) in overtime by three points 91-88 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Titanes Licey. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-13. But Titanes Licey won second period 24-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Titanes Licey used huge pressure winning it 26-17 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-11. They outrebounded Titanes Licey 51-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. Indios SFM looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized Spanish center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 20 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Omar Reed (200-87, college: Bluefield, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American guard Austin Freeman (194-89, college: Georgetown) responded with 19 points and 5 assists and point guard Yerri Flores (188-96, college: High School) scored 16 points. Four Indios SFM and five Titanes Licey players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Indios SFM maintains eighth position with 3-10 record. Titanes Licey at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Indios SFM will face higher ranked Soles SD (#4) in Santo Domingo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Titanes Licey will play on the road against the league's leader Metros STGO and will have a slim chance for a victory.
