Quarter-Finals Round 1: Guangxi - Henan 110-118

Henan overcame Guangxi in the quarterfinal series opener. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Henan dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Guangxi's 54. They outrebounded Guangxi 55-31 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Henan made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 64 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. American power forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee Services) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 7 blocks for the winners. American swingman Orlando Johnson (196-89, college: UCSB) answered with 46 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and the other American import forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) added 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Guangxi. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
