Regular Season Round 17: Caneros LR - Soles SD 100-89

The game between third ranked Soles SD (9-8) and fourth ranked Caneros LR (9-8) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Soles SD was defeated by Caneros LR in La Romana 100-89. The game was mostly controlled by Caneros LR. Soles SD managed to win third quarter 29-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) stepped up and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and naturalized American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Puerto Rican swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and American center Jordan Richard (206-89, college: CS Los Angeles) scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. Five Caneros LR and four Soles SD players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caneros LR have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Soles SD. Caneros LR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Soles SD will play on the road against Titanes Licey in San Cristobal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
