Regular Season Round 19: Metros STGO - Huracanes PP 122-99

Very expected game when 5th ranked Huracanes PP (8-10) was smashed by first ranked Metros STGO (18-2) in Santiago 122-99 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Metros STGO. Huracanes PP was better in fourth quarter 33-32. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Metros STGO made 29-of-38 free shots (76.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Huracanes PP turnovers. Huracanes PP was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Adris De Leon (180-84, college: E.Washington) who helped to win the game recording 54 points (!!!) and 4 assists. British V.Islands center Kleon Penn (213-86, college: McNeese St., agency: Paris Global Sports) contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Penn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Naturalized American forward Emmy Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Luis Jacobo (196-91, college: IPFW, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 23 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Huracanes PP. Four Huracanes PP players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Metros STGO have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-2 record. Huracanes PP at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Metros STGO will have a break next round. Huracanes PP will play at home against Indios SFM (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
