Regular Season Round 3: Lady Cardinals - Cangrejeras 49-90

Another interesting game for Cangrejeras (1-2) which played in Lajas against Lady Cardinals (0-3). Cangrejeras crushed hosts 90-49. The game without a history. Cangrejeras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lady Cardinals' 20. Cangrejeras forced 27 Lady Cardinals turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Michelle Gonzalez (167-89, college: FIU) helped adding 26 points and 6 assists. Cangrejeras' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Maria Blazejewski (185-91, college: L.Superior) with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Teanna Robinson (196-92, college: Mercer) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Cangrejeras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lady Cardinals will play at home against Indias (#4) and hope to get finally their first victory.
