Quarter-Finals Day 11: USA - ARGENTINA 105-78

Team USA booked their tickets into the semifinal stage in Rio. They thumped Argentina in the quarterfinal clash on Wednesday. Kevin Durant provided 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to pace the effort. Argentina got to a quick start. The Latin American powerhouse built a 19:9 lead midway through the opening quarter. But Team USA picked up the tempo gradually. They finished the period on a strong run to secure a 25:21 lead. Team USA dropped 31 points in the second quarter and started to get away. They stayed red hot offensively in the third period. The North American team secured a comfortable 87:61 lead heading into the fourth quarter. They never looked back afterwards cruising to the win. Paul George delivered 17 points, while Cousins added 15 points for the winners. Scola responded with 15 points and 10 boards for Argentina. Ginobili tossed in 14 points and handed out 7 assists in the loss.
