Second Stage Round 1: Leones SD - Soles SD 88-85

A very interesting game took place in Santo Domingo. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of Soles SD (0-1) to Leones SD (2-0) 88-85 on Thursday evening. The hosts were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 32-15 last quarter charge of Soles SD cut the lead to 88-85 at the end of the game. American forward Donte Greene (206-88, college: Syracuse) nailed 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Brian Conklin (198-89, college: St.Louis) accounted for 21 points and 6 rebounds. Puerto Rican swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American center Jordan Richard (206-89, college: CS Los Angeles) added 13 points and 16 rebounds respectively for Soles SD in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Leones SD's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santo Domingo to the arena Soles SD.
