Second Stage Round 2: Reales LV - Huracanes PP 99-87

No shocking result in a game when Reales LV (2-2) beat Huracanes PP (0-4) in La Vega 99-87 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Reales LV. Huracanes PP was better in second period 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Reales LV had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Naturalized American Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Ivan Johnson (203-84, college: CS San Bernar., agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Jaison Valdez (188-95, agency: Basket Management Solutions) replied with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Guyanese Rawle Marshall (201-82, college: Oakland) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Huracanes PP. Four Reales LV and five Huracanes PP players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Reales LV will face again Huracanes PP (#6) in Puerto Plata in the next round. Huracanes PP will play on the road against Metros STGO in Santiago and hope to win that game.
