The game in Santurce was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Indias (7-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Cangrejeras (3-6). Indias defeated Cangrejeras 102-86 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Indias. Cangrejeras managed to win second period 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Indias outrebounded Cangrejeras 33-22 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Indias looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Prim is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP) produced 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international point guard Michelle Gonzalez (167-89, college: FIU) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Indias moved-up to second place, which they share with Gigantes. Loser Cangrejeras keep the sixth position with six games lost. Indias will meet at home Montaneras (#4) in the next round. Cangrejeras will play against Montaneras in Morovis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
