The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santo Domingo: Leones SD (#2) and Soles SD (#4). Leones SD (6-0) crushed visiting Soles SD (1-4) by 18 points 87-69. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 51-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for Puerto Rican point guard Alex Abreu (180-91, college: W.Georgia) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Elpidio Fortuna (188-85) helped adding 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Leones SD players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Juan Miguel Suero (196-93) with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and American center Jordan Richard (206-89, college: CS Los Angeles) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
