Regular Season Round 6: Toros - Correcaminos 78-89

LPB round 6 most important game was a victory of Correcaminos over one of their biggest challengers Toros 89-78 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Correcaminos. Toros managed to win fourth quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Toros 38-22 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Correcaminos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for center Jaime Lloreda (204-80, college: LSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized American forward Tyler Gaskins (193-92, college: St.Peter's) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Point guard Joel Munoz (183-80, agency: Paris Global Sports) replied with 20 points and 8 assists and naturalized American guard Antonio Bumpus (190-89, college: Cumberlands) added 26 points in the effort for Toros. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion (3-3) moved-up to third place, which they share with Aguilas. Toros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Correcaminos is looking forward to face league's leader Panteras in Panama City in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toros will play at home against the league's second-placed Halcones (#2) and are hoping to win this game.
