Bottom-ranked Lady Cardinals (0-12) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to sixth ranked Cangrejeras (4-9) 86-59 on Friday evening. The game without a history. Cangrejeras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lady Cardinals' 32. The best player for the winners was American forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Dayshalee Salaman (163-90, college: Lincoln Memorial) chipped in 20 points. Cangrejeras' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican Charlenny Frias (170-84) produced 23 points and 4 assists and American forward Maria Blazejewski (185-91, college: L.Superior) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Cangrejeras maintains sixth position with 4-9 record. Newly promoted Lady Cardinals still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Cangrejeras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lady Cardinals will play against the league's leader Gigantes (#1) and hope to get finally their first victory.
