The most exciting game of round 15 in the BSNF took place in Manati. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Atenienses (6-5) to third ranked Montaneras (10-3) 63-60 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 14-9. But Atenienses won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Pamela Rosado (165-86) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Natasha Alequin chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Montaneras players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and international center Sandra Garcia (190-90, college: Wake Forest) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Atenienses' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Montaneras have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gigantes. Atenienses at the other side keep the fifth place with five games lost. Montaneras is looking forward to face Santeras (#4) in Aguada in the next round. Atenienses will play at home against the league's leader Gigantes and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
