No shocking result in a game when second ranked Montaneras (11-3) beat 4th ranked Santeras (8-5) in Morovis 76-72 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Montaneras made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Sasha Goodlett (195-90, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. International Jazmine Sepulveda (178-85, college: S.Florida, agency: Merit Management Group) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Deven Hunter (190-94, college: Oregon St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and international guard Tayra Melendez (180-93, college: Rhode Island) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Santeras. Four Montaneras and five Santeras players scored in double figures. Montaneras have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gigantes. Newly promoted Santeras keep the fourth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
