Lorient (1-0) survived in overtime against GET Vosges (0-1) by two points 85-83 on Friday night. GET Vosges cut a 18-point halftime deficit to tie the game at the end of regular time. But they lost overtime period 7-9. American forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) fired 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Jason Bach (198-87) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. Naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahima Sidibe (180-95) produced 18 points and swingman Steven Ricard (200-90) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four GET Vosges players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Lorient will face Quimper UJAP (#5) on the road in the next round. GET Vosges will play against CFBB (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
