There was a minor upset when Union Rennes (1-1) lost on the road to Rueil (1-1) 84-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rueil led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Jeremy Bichard (186-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 assists. Serbian swingman Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) contributed with 18 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners. American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Johan Rathieuville (178-85, agency: Comsport) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Union Rennes. Four Union Rennes players scored in double figures. Rueil will face Orchesien BC (#9) in Orchies in the next round where they are favorite. Union Rennes will play at home against Vitre (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
