Second ranked host Canarios (12-4) smashed 3rd ranked 11 Lobos (10-6) 80-60. Canarios dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to 11 Lobos' 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by 11 Lobos' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Canarios made 11 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaica-American forward Devin Thompson (199-80, college: St.Peter's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Dominican forward Michael Borbon (198-89) who added 21 points, 11 rebounds and 8 blocks during the contest. American power forward Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Jonny Williams (172-86) scored 17 points and 5 assists. Canarios maintains second position with 12-4 record having four points less than leader Santa Tecla. 11 Lobos at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Quezaltepeque. Canarios will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. 11 Lobos will play on the road against Aguila (#4) in San Miguel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
