Regular Season Round 25: Santeras - Cangrejeras 79-85

There was a small surprise in Aguada where sixth ranked Cangrejeras (8-12) defeated 4th placed Santeras (12-7) 85-79. Cangrejeras made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (made all of her eleven free throws !!!) for the winning side and her fellow American import center Talia Caldwell (188-91, college: California) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds. Five Cangrejeras players scored in double figures. International guard Tayra Melendez (180-93, college: Rhode Island) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Patricia Bright (193-91, college: Oregon St.) added 16 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Santeras in the defeat. Cangrejeras maintains sixth place with 8-12 record. Newly promoted Santeras keep the fourth position with seven games lost.
