Palma was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from San Sebastian 75-67 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 45-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for point guard Ricardo Uriz (188-80) who helped to win the game recording 15 points. Lithuania center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Gipuzkoa's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Carles Bivia (189-85) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Palma. Five Gipuzkoa and four Palma players scored in double figures. Gipuzkoa will face Araberri in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Palma will play on the road against Melilla Baloncesto (#15) and hope to win that game.
