Regular Season Round 2: Baerum Basket - Asker Aliens 87-84

Important game to mention about took place in Bekkestua. Baerum Basket (1-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Asker Aliens (0-2) 87-84 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Asker Aliens won fourth quarter 31-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) scored 28 points to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-87, college: New Hampshire) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists during the contest. Gilchrese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. Baerum Basket's coach Matthias Eckhoff allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Espen Stien (186-86) scored 36 points (!!!). Baerum Basket will play against Tromso (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Asker Aliens will play against Froya Basket in Laksevag to get more than just one victory in their record.
