The game in Santurce was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Montaneras (16-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Cangrejeras (8-13). Montaneras defeated Cangrejeras 70-59. The game was mostly controlled by Montaneras. Cangrejeras was better in fourth quarter 18-5. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montaneras players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shae Kelley (185-91, college: Minnesota) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and international Jazmine Sepulveda (178-85, college: S.Florida, agency: Merit Management Group) who added 12 points during the contest. Four Montaneras players scored in double figures. Glennys Rosa responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds and Natalie Diaz scored 5 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Montaneras have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 16-5 record having just one point less than leader Gigantes. Cangrejeras at the other side keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Montaneras will play against Atenienses (#5) in Manati in the next round. Cangrejeras will play at home against Lady Cardinals and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
