Quarter-Finals Round 2: Mogi - America 98-56
Date: October 8, 2016
Mogi das Cruzes claimed the semifinal appearance as they swept America. The game without a history. Mogi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Mogi outrebounded America 38-25 including a 28-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by America's players. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) notched 23 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Caio Silveira (211-87, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Even 16 points by American point guard Dave Boykin (196-88, college: Bridgeport) did not help to save the game for America. Guard Rafael Castellon (-85) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
