Regular Season Round 5: Prostejov - MMCITE Brno 112-68

There was no surprise when 9th ranked MMCITE Brno (1-4) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Prostejov (4-1) 112-68. Prostejov dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to MMCITE Brno's 24. Prostejov forced 25 MMCITE Brno turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 65.4 percentage. Prostejov players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by MMCITE Brno's players. Naturalized Slovakian Roman Marko (194-86) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side and center Jan Tomanec (205-85, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Prostejov players scored in double figures. Serbian point guard Edi Sinadinovic (193-88) came up with 26 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American center Deshawn Painter (205-90, college: ODU) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for MMCITE Brno in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Prostejov. They moved-up to second place, which they share with BK Pardubice and BK Opava. MMCITE Brno at the other side keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Prostejov's next round opponent will be BK Lions Hradec (#11) in J.Hradec and are hoping to win another game. MMCITE Brno will play at home against BK Kolin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
