Regular Season Round 3: Gimle Pride - Bergen 64-47

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bergen: Gimle Pride (#6) and Bergen (#5). Gimle Pride (1-2) crushed visiting Bergen (0-3) by 17 points 64-47. The game was mostly controlled by Gimle Pride. Bergen managed to win fourth quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bergen to just 6 points in first quarter. Gimle Pride held Bergen to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Gimle Pride forced 19 Bergen turnovers and outrebounded them 51-36 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for swingman Josefin Winther (180-86) who led her team to a victory scoring 8 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Ingrid Gjerdevik (169-92) helped adding 18 points and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was point guard Sigrid Hardie (163-94) with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and guard Kaia Brendesaeter (169-99) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gimle Pride will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bergen will play at home against Ulriken (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
