Regular Season Round 23: Canarios - Aguila 78-92

The game between second ranked Canarios (14-6) and fifth ranked Aguila (12-5) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Canarios were defeated by Aguila in Ahuachapan 78-92. Aguila outrebounded Canarios 42-28 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Costa Rican guard Michael Jackson (190-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. American forward Enoch Hood (206, college: N.C.Central) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Aguila's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Martin Ramos (170-92) answered with 21 points and 9 assists and Jamaica-American forward Devin Thompson (199-80, college: St.Peter's) added 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Canarios. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aguila moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Isidro Metapan. Canarios at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. They share it with Quezaltepeque. Aguila is looking forward to face league's leader Santa Tecla at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Canarios will play against San Miguel and are hoping to win this game.
