Regular Season Round 3: Loko Plzen - GBA Sparta 66-43

There was a surprise result when BK Loko Plzen (1-2) smashed at home GBA Sparta (1-2) 66-43 on Friday. BK Loko Plzen held GBA Sparta to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded GBA Sparta 45-28 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for power forward Jaroslav Kovanda (203-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Vaclav Honomichl (186-92) helped adding 11 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Latvia forward Verners Kohs (203-97) with 11 points and Martin Hruby (192-87) scored 3 points and 7 rebounds. GBA Sparta's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. BK Loko Plzen will face Sokol Pisek (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. GBA Sparta will play against Vysocina (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
