Date: October 15, 2016
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Naron and bottom-ranked Seis do Nadal had identical 0-1 record. This time Naron used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Vigo 89-57 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Naron. Seis do Nadal was better in second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Seis do Nadal 44-25 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Matt Stoll (201-92, college: Ferris St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and guard Samuel Barros (190-98) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Naron players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Pablo Gonzalez (196-89) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Jose Enrique Henriquez (178-92) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Naron (1-1) left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Group A-B, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Seis do Nadal still closes the standings with two games lost. Naron will face higher ranked Rosalia (#4) in Santiago de Camp. in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Seis do Nadal will play at home against Betanzos (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
