Very expected game in Nagoya where 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (1-6) were defeated by first ranked Diamond Dolphins (6-1) 67-54 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Diamond Dolphins forced 19 Shiga L-Stars turnovers. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) fired 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. Diamond Dolphins' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Samba Faye (205-87) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Diamond Dolphins. They maintain first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Toyota Alvark and Sanen. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the sixth position with six games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face again Shiga L-Stars (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
