Regular Season Round 4: BVM 2012 - La Fecha 75-85

There was a minor upset in Mieres where bottom-ranked BVM 2012 (0-1) was defeated by ninth ranked La Fecha (1-1) 85-75 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 26-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely BVM 2012 outrebounded La Fecha 35-10 including a 23-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. BVM 2012 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Arturo Sarmiento (193-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who helped to win the game recording 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Millan Lopez (185-94) who added 19 points during the contest. Five La Fecha players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-British forward Jeff Dirkin (203-91, college: Rollins, agency: Duran International) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Manu Parada (202-89) scored 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. La Fecha left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Group A-B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser BVM 2012 still closes the standings with one game lost. La Fecha will face Ponferrada CDP (#11) at home in the next round where they are favorite. BVM 2012 will play against the league's leader Chantada and hopes to get finally their first victory.
