Regular Season Round 7: Ieper - Giants B 72-67

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Ieper (3-4) defeated at home 11th ranked Giants B (1-4) 72-67 on Saturday. Ieper had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for swingman Robin Mestdagh (195-88, college: E.Kentucky) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. Senegalese-Spanish power forward Mamadou Diop (204-93) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side center Roby Rogiers (202-97, agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Ordane Kanda-Kanyinda (186-96) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Ieper moved-up to seventh place. Giants B lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Ieper will face higher ranked Waregem (#3) in Waregem in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Giants B will play at home against RPC Anderlecht (#10) and hope to win that game.
